THE STORY_

This project is very close to my heart—it marks the beginning of my journey as a graphic designer. At the time, I was living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and had just launched a brand of accessories crafted from Argentine raw cow leather.

At the time, I was working in fashion production for a women’s magazine, while my business partner had a strong background in graphic design. She generously introduced me to Adobe Suite, and together, we designed the logo—learning and creating at the same time.

It was a true revelation for me. Once I got started, I never stopped. That moment sparked my passion for design, and from then on, I kept refining my skills, eventually leading me to where I am today.

LOGO & VISUAL IDENTITY_

I wanted the logo to integrate the brand name and an icon but the challenge was balancing football culture with the refinement of my products. The name comes from a well-known Argentine story, always fun to share with tourists:

During the 1986 World Cup semi-final, Maradona scored an unforgettable goal from midfield against England, Argentina’s greatest rivals since the Falklands conflict. The commentator, overwhelmed with emotion, famously called him a Barrilete Cósmico, "cosmic kite." This phrase became legendary in Argentina.

PRODUCTS DESIGN_

My goal with Barrilete Cósmico was to create the perfect gift for tourists: something made from Argentina’s renowned leather but designed in a modern, practical way.

I wanted these pieces to be more than just souvenirs; they needed to be stylish and functional, something people could genuinely use once they returned home, whether to Europe or anywhere else.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT_

Now that I’ve moved from Argentina to Dubai, I’ve left the brand, and all the beautiful leather clutches and cuffs, behind.

But the Instagram page is still up, so feel free to check it out if you’d like to see more about this project I loved working on.

SILKSCREEN PRINTING & PACKAGING_

To diversify the product range, I started creating cotton pouches featuring my own designs, printed manually using the silkscreen technique. I also designed packaging for the leather clutches, as you can see here.

When I moved to Dubai, I returned to this technique to create Dubai in Layers, a series of beautiful silkscreen prints. You can find them in my Shop_

PRINT COLLATERALS_

Of course, any brand selling products needs a strong set of printed materials: packaging, thank-you cards, silk paper with custom patterns, etc.

I always did my best to make the most of these printed elements, ensuring that people felt excited and proud to gift Barrilete Cósmico products.

With Barrilete Cósmico I also created my first website: a minimalist design with plenty of white space, showcasing beautiful photos by my friend Franziska Cook.
